I’ve been waiting to write something on this for a while and since we are closing in on the finale I thought this would make the perfect time. Firstly, I am a huge fan of this show, I am always drawn to the time travel genre of SciFi. It allows for such creativity and storytelling. That being said, if not done properly it’s easy to write yourself into a corner that even utilizing the very loose rules of time travel you can’t get away from.
I was a huge fan of the original film as I am of this series. I will be sad to see it go, but if done right, often times it’s better to end on a high note, than drag out and produce garbage.
********SPOILERS BELOW, PROCEED WITH CAUTION************
I can’t write any more without giving praise to without a doubt the best character on the show, the coo coo for coco puffs Jennifer Goines played by the talented Emily Hampshire. Though not the only comedy in the show, her comedic relief is spot on and hilarious. A lot of it many people probably don’t catch, at least not the first time around, I’ve found myself saying “did I just hear what I thought I heard???” and rewinding just to hear an obscure scifi or cult classic reference. Some of my favorites are the reference to Groundhog day and Bill & Ted’s Excellent adventure.
Gotta be honest, I am really hoping for a happy ending for Cole and Cassie. They are teasing during this last season that they can save themselves or they can save the world, but not both. If they save time and reset without the virus. Cole is but a child in Cassie’s timeline, they never meet and never end up together. Similar to the movie, the plague is stopped and time is rewritten. Although, it appears that good ‘ol Doc Brown may have gotten to Cassie, she just might sabotage the world for Cole, guess I’ll just have to wait and see how it plays out.
Strange things are definitely a foot, at the Circle K!
I saw the pilot and really liked it. Thank you for your insight and I look forward to watching the entire series!
Make a more new posts please 🙂
